Achievements
Stabilized School Attendance at Primary and U.P. level with the implementation of Mid Day Meal Programme
Covering all the 72 Primary Schools and 8 Upper Primary Schools. This has created a wide impact on the children and about 37,000 children (including Aided Schools) are being benefited. This Government Programme has attracted both the parent and the children and well received.

M.C.V. Student won Gold Medal in the Junior Asian Meet - 2002
The notable achievements to indicate Chi. K.Aruna Kumari, student of Madhavadhara M.C. High School won Gold Medal in 100 X 4 Mts., in the Junior Asian Meet held at Hongkong in 2002
One Bronze Medal in Boxing in the Juniors World Boxing Meet held in 2003
Chy. S.Rama Krishna, Ex student of Madhavadhara M.C. High Schools won Bronze Medal in the Junior World Boxing Meet held in 2003.
Recent Intervensions of M.C.V
The year 2004 – 2005 was noted for significant reforms for the improvement of School Education.
Three (3) M.C.Upper Primary Schools out of seven have achieved 100 % result in 7th Class Public Examinations during the Academic Year 2004 – 2005.
25 students of 10th Class have achieved above 500 marks in the S.S.C. – 2005 and for the first time Merit Scholarships were distributed of Rs. 2,000 /- per head.
Highest Percentage recorded by N.G.G.O’s Colony M.C.High School with a success of 93%.
Seven (7) out of 17 M.C. High Schools achieved a pass of 70% above.
The 10thClass percentage in the Public Examination has increased to 60 % from 53 % last year accounting for 7 % increase while the District Average and State Average declined to 8% from last year.
Supply of Study Material for X Class students, prepared by the District Common Board focusing much, to help benefit the slow learners and under achievers has stirred interest among the teachers and students.
Deployment of Special Vidya Volunteers for conducting extra tutorial classes before and after school hours and weekends.This has steadily improved the study hours by small groups during the evening hours and proved useful for the students who are predominantly from slums
Supply of Evening Meal for X Class appearing students during the study hours has created a new impact for the children of slum areas. First time this was tried and has given a fruit full results
Special Counselling by MEDHA Institute for building self confidence
Introduction of English Medium at 1st and 2nd Standards with the request of the Parental Groups with great concern with two fold objectives to improve the quality of Education and to make the education relevant to the demands of the modern Employment Market on par with their other counterparts in the Urban Situation
Deployment of Special Vidya Volunteers having English Medium background and teaching experience for teaching 1st and 2nd Standards. A total of 110 Volunteers have been deployed to teach in 71 Schools including 63 Primary Schools and 8 Upper Primary Schools
Distribution of English Medium Text Books for the 1st and 2nd Standard children and 8000 School Uniforms were distributed to all the 1st and 2nd standard children
Special provision sanctioned to upkeep the sanitary conditions in all the schools under Toilets Improvement Programme.
Computer Awareness Programme was introduced in Kapparada M.C.School covering both Kapparada M.C. Primary and High Schools,which is inaugurated by Dr. Rajasekhar Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh
Program’s of Specialized nature in preparation :
Massive Health Programme in active collaboration with K.G.H. and Indian Dental Association and Colgate Palmolive covering all the schools consisting 31,000 children has been worked out as a planned intervention
Proposals for Computer Awareness Programme was initiated in the first phase for 3000 children from four M.C. High Schools for 3 years with an estimate cost of Rs. 45 Lakhs, and the file is under process.
A Public Appeal was made inviting Public/Private Agencies for collaboration with M.C.V. for fulfilling the deficiencies like Environment / Infrastructure in Municipal Corporation Schools. The programme is under process
“Twinning Programme” ( Jodimpu Karyakramam )was introduced on 02-02-2005 by Sri. Praveen Prakash, District Collector, Visakhapatnam, between Private English Medium Schools and M.C. Schools for mutual sharing of core strength for a common destination in three components i.e. (1) Spoken English (2) Computer Education (3)Common Sports. A total of 3,354 students have been covered under the said programme. 26 English Medium schools and 47 M.C.V. School have twinned so far.
Study Tours have been conducted for M.C. Primary School children by arranging two (2)buses to Nandi Foundation ( Mid Day Meal Project ) Plant, local parks, Museum and Aquarium etc., a total of 30 children of 6th and 7th classes have been covered during the period 22-01-2005 to 08-02-2005.
Three M.C.Primary Schools which includes Relliveedhi, Kotha Nakkavanipalem and Ex-Servicemen Colony M.C.Primary Schools have been upgrade din Upper Primary Schools during the year 2004 – 05.
Brief Note On Sports Wing
Summer Sports Camp with greater mobilization of about 4000 students was held from 01-05-2004 to 25-05-2005 in 13 events which include Kabbadi, Volley Ball, Throw Ball, Boxing, Ball Badminton, Chess, FootBall,Kho – Kho, Karate, Hand Ball,Tenikoet, Swimming and Athletics. During this one month programme all the related missionary like National Players,Coaches, and the Department of District Sports Authority have all been involved for effective and greater mobilization.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN INDIA Volley Ball Championship (ONGC CUP),13th World Volley Ball Championship was held under the leadership of Commissioner,M.C.V and the successful involvement of Corporation Staff in Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium. Duly modified Centralized A.C. Stadium. During 6 to 14th of August–2005 wherein 12 countries which includes Siberia, India, Cuba, Russia, Morocco, Korea,Iran, Tunisia, U.S.A, Netherlands,Brazil and Germany have participated.
The participation of M.C.V.School Children in District, State and School Nationals has been increasing year by year with increased optimism.
