Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam with great concern has initiated school Infrastructure Development Programme besides providing quality education. In this direction the expenditure incurred by Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam is increasing year by year many schools are being developed by providing White Wash, Colour Wash, Drinking Water Supply & Play Equipment’s etc., yet the challenge is so enormous as over 90 % of the school strength represented by the children who live in slums in dire poverty and deprived conditions and therefore M.C.V. is trying to highlight the need for the involvement of partnership from the Private / Public Agencies and welcoming them to be the part takers for uplifting the image of the schools and to make them more attractive.
The Description of schools with brief explanation of its significance and the statistical information, the varying stages of adequate and inadequate reources, the challenges the schools are facing with a view to inspire those agencies or individuals who are interested like N.R.I’s Private and Public Agencies / Individual Philanthropists / Academicians / N.G.O’s to promote schools by contributing their services either by financial or non financial to the particular school in which they are interested in partnership with the Corporation.

Schools Grouped by its category and the Student Strength for the Year 2005 - 06
Out of the total strength of 30,446 of Municipal Corporation Schools more than 90% students represented by the children of urban poor migrants who live in city slums in dire poverty and unemployment family background. This situation highlights the need for effective and caring inputs to compensate their deprivation. In view of rapid urbanization, this generation needs extra concentration and support to become potential to suit to the new demands of the Employment Market.

Study Progress Ttowards A Realizable Goal And Emergence Of New Image To The M.C.V. Schools
The year of 2004 – 05 has a wider impact is evident with the significant improvement in the percentage. As indicated in the side table the Pass Percentage has increased from 27 % in the year 2000 – 01 to 60 % in the year 2004 – 05. To achieve a realizable goal of 80 – 90% in the ensuing years Commissioner, M.C.V. calling for the right type of partners to serve in this day of extraordinary opportunity.
